The \"53 Post Stations of the Tokaido\" depict the way stations on the main road between Edo and Kyoto. The Tokaido was used by pilgrims to visit temples and shrines, and this print shows a group of women and pedlars taking the ferry boat to Daishi Temple (Heigen-ji) at Kawasaki. A packhorse and palanquin await the travellers on the banks of the river to take them to their night's lodgings. Mount Fuji is visible in the background." ,
